The tour is conducted entirely in English. My guests see breathtaking sights, and I also tell them stories about the local culture (and especially the history of Dracula/Vlad the Impaler).
Guests get to hear the fascinating ancient and medieval legends about vampires, NOT THE HOLLYWOOD version. I tell my stories with passion, and I believe with a lot of personality. I have been a tour guide in both Louisiana (USA) and Transylvania (Romania) for over 8 years.

The tour officially starts from STRADA REPUBLICII 59, IN FRONT OF McDONALD'S, in old town Brasov. I can pick anyone up from their hotel, or from in front of McDonald's, whichever is most convenient for the guests.

Transfagarasan Highway

Transfagarasan Highway was named "the best road in the whole world" by BBC's Top Gear TV show. It truly lives up to its name. Come see breathtaking alpine scenery, hundreds of switchback turns, vertical granite cliffs, lush forests and meadows with wildflowers, waterfalls, a glacial lake, wildlife (mountain goats) and stunning vistas. The tour also includes a trip to the ruins of Carta Abbey, the easternmost Cistercian (Trappist) abbey in Europe, a visit to the Vidraru Dam (one of the deepest and most dramatic dams in Europe), and a sighting from down below of the REAL DRACULA CASTLE (Poienari Castle) - which sadly is currently closed for renovation. You will also hear fascinating stories about the local culture, and especially about history legends about Dracula/Vlad the Impaler, and about vampire folklore.

Balea Waterfall

The most stunning waterfall in all of Transylvania.

Le Lac Balea
1 hour
Glacial Lake high in the Carpathian mountains. For the physically-active, we will take a 45 minute hike around the lake, and a little above it. For those who want to stay behind, there are several restaurants and bars in the area with refreshing beverages and great food.

One of the deepest and most dramatic dams in all of Europe.

Dracula's REAL castle, off the beaten-path, and a hidden gem. Currently closed for renovation, but we will still see it from the valley down below. Guests will hear the fascinating history of Dracula/Vlad the Impaler, and also legends and folklore about vampires.

Panoramic vista of Magura, Fundata, and Pestera, the three most beautiful villages in Romania. Magura has been described by the Financial Times (the newspaper in London) as the most beautiful village in Europe.
